A few of my favorite new products!!
Studio Fix Fluid Foundation from MAC Cosmetics: I recently bought the Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 from MAC Cosmetics. It;s a full coverage, matte finish foundation. This was my first time using a full coverage foundation, because I was fearful that the foundation would be too heavy and give off a cakey appearance. I absolutely love it. The color matches my skin very well, it’s light, and goes on smoothly. It was only $30, which is the average price for foundation, and a little bit goes a long way. I love this product because I don’t have to use any color correctors or concealer with it because it truly covers everything. So, if I am pressed for time, I don’t have to use several different products before applying the rest of my makeup. I usually don’t wear too much makeup on vacation, especially when it’s somewhere hot, but I used this foundation whole on vacation and it didn’t bother me at all. The one thing i would recommend is using a finishing spray because like most foundations it does transfer on your fingers, clothes, etc. Other than that I think this is one of the best foundations I have purchased.
Killawatt Highlighter by Fenty Beauty: Fenty Beauty by Rihanna has an awesome highlighter line called Killawatt. There are currently 6 different palettes you can purchase and all of them come with two different shades except for two, which are Trophy Wife and Metal Moon. I love this brand of highlights because it is very pigmented and there is a variety of different shades. The shades can range from dramatic to subtle, but you are still able to see the highlight whichever way you go. I have the Mean Money/Hustla Baby Highlighter and Trophy Wife. I love the Money/Hustla Baby highlight for my more natural, casual makeup looks. I use Trophy Wife when I want to be more extra and dramatic. Since they are very pigmented you only need to use a small amount, which makes the product last longer. What I love most about these highlighters is that you can build on them to get a bolder look depending on the look you are going for. These highlighters cost $34 and they last forever. I have the Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit, which has warm highlight pigments, but I find that the Fenty Beauty highlight is easier to apply and shows up better. You can see the Fenty highlight from a distance and in pictures without having to use a lot. It also lasts throughout the day, so there is no need to reapply your highlighter.
Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks by ColourPop: ColourPop’s Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick is one of my favorite brands of lipstick to use This lipstick goes on like lip gloss. Once it dries, it looks like a matte lipstick. This lipstick is very pigmented and the colors show up well. The best part about this lipstick is that it stays on all day long and doesn’t transfer much when it is dry. ColourPop offers a variety of colors and different celebrity lines. This product is vegan, animal cruelty free produce. Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks by ColourPop is also very inexpensive. Each lipstick is usually $6.50 and the company often has sales. There are two downfalls of this product. One downfall is that it can make your lips feel dry, so I recommend putting a thin layer of moisturizer on your lips prior to application. The other issue I have is removing the lipstick. I suggest using face wash or make up remover to remove this lipstick or else it’ll leave a trace of the lipstick color on your lips. Outside of these two things I think this is a great brand for lipstick and it’s very affordable.
